Winnipeg Emotionally Focused Therapy Training
Emotionally Focused Therapy
The science of love and relationships is ushering in a new era for couple and family therapy. Based on the neuroscience of adult love, EFT is validated by 25 years of scientific research.
EFT is a short-term, structured and tested approach to reduce stress in adult love relationships and create more secure attachment bonds. It is also used with families.
Formulated in the 1980’s EFT is growing in popularity across North America and internationally.
Research studies find that more than 70% of couples move from distress to recovery and approximately 90% show significant improvements.

Previous EFT Training Participants
"Watching Lorrie work was like putting together the pieces of a puzzle I had been working with.
I found Lorrie very helpful. She is insightful, knows the model well and is an excellent teacher. I would take another course from her in a NY minute!! She seems to always have a solid point to add to my understanding of EFT.
Lorrie is caring, compassionate and clear. A remarkable therapist and teacher. "

The Core Skills Advanced Training Program
The Core Skills Advanced Training Program is an excellent opportunity to develop strong clinical skills in EFT within the safety of a small group. The training is held over four two- day weekends. Enjoy a safe, collegial atmosphere to practice, share and risk with other like-minded therapists. If, as Dr. Rebecca Jorgensen writes, "...you are getting lost being an agent of change in this exciting [EFT] process you will love Core Skills!"
Each day will contain instruction, role playing and group supervision of EFT work according to the guidelines of the International Centre for Excellence in EFT. Each week-end provides twelve hours of training.
Prerequisite:
Core Skills Advanced Training is open to all therapists who have taken an EFT Externship and are willing to participate in role plays and to show a 15 – 20 minute segment from one of your sessions to the group.
Session 1 focuses on Steps 1- 4, with particular attention to assessment, alliance building, empathic attunement and basic EFT Skills, as well as identifying the negative interactive cycle.
